Explore color possibilities from natural materials and how to create a color palette on paper at this 2-day workshop.
Saturday, February 21st from 10 am to 4pm and Sunday, February 22nd from 10am to 4pm at my studio located in the Kickernick Building - 430 1st Avenue North - Minneapolis - 55401 -Suite #250
Incorporate skills that you already have or learned with batik, natural pigments or other fiber arts. We will work with the three basic dye vats or natural color - blue, red and yellow along with sap green (buckthorn berry), black walnut + oak galls for tannins/greening and logwood for rich purples. With guidance, students will expand on their palettes of color, local material sources and build on previous skills gained.
Details
Once registered you will receive an outline of the class schedule and logistics for the weekend + optional supply list. Wax and pigments will be supplied, as well as tools to create artwork. This workshop is limited to 10 students per day.
